gnome-commander software package provides nice and fast file manager for the GNOME desktop, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-commander
gnome-commander is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-commander package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-commander *
You will get with gnome-commander package name, version, architecture and description in a table
